These Smart Upgrades Make Your Bathroom Easier To Clean
Table of Contents
Cleaning your bathroom can feel like such a chore. Water can get everywhere and create marks and stains, it can get humid (which makes it the perfect breeding ground for mould), and the grout between your tiles gets stained. However, it really doesn’t have to be as tricky as you think. Below are a few upgrades you can add to make your bathroom easier to clean.
Switch Out Your Taps
It’s all well and good having some beautiful ornate taps that look amazing, but they can be a pain to clean. Getting up in all the gaps where the water can easily go and create horrible watermarks that just never seem to go away. To avoid this, switch them out for some shower taps that are easier to clean and maintain. Choose materials like brushed nickel or stainless steel, which are better at hiding the watermarks so you don’t have to clean them as often and won’t be as easy for water to stain.
Groutless Tiles
Grout is every cleaner’s worst nightmare. You can spend hours cleaning the same small patch to get nowhere – even after whacking out the bleach. So why have any at all? You can invest in some groutless tiles or panels, in your shower and the rest of your bathroom, that are stuck on with a strong adhesive and have fewer joins to have to worry about cleaning between. With no grout, you don’t have to fear discolouration or having to reseal the tiles once they’ve been installed for a while.
Added Ventilation
Ventilation is absolutely crucial in a bathroom to be able to let your bathroom dry out. Without it, the humidity will get too high and you’ll start to suffer from damp and mould problems. It is definitely worth the time, money and effort investing in some new ventilation to improve the room’s airflow, especially if you don’t have a window in your bathroom.
It’s also worth mentioning that when you have your new ventilation installed, you should keep on top of cleaning it, as it’s far easier to clean up than any mold or damp that grows because you don’t have adequate airflow.
Replace The Shower Curtain
Old shower curtains can get super dirty and smelly quickly, so get rid as soon as you first see any signs of it getting past its best. You could just replace it with a nice clean new one or you could think about replacing them altogether. Shower screens are a great alternative to shower curtains, being much easier to clean. Just pop a squeegee in the bathroom and go over the glass every so often to stay on top of the cleaning – plus it’ll never smell or look as bad as a curtain can get.
Cleaning your bathroom doesn’t have to be as difficult as you think it can be. By making some small switches or upgrading parts of your bathroom, you’ll make your life a lot easier, and it’ll no longer be a headache for you to keep tidy.
