Even if they give you a concrete number for how much your build is going to cost, you still have to remember that there could be unforeseen expenses and this will make it way more expensive to complete your project. 

If you want to safeguard yourself from risk then one thing you can do is add around 25% to your budget, so you can account for anything that you might not have thought about yet. Sure, getting this kind of money can be difficult, but if you are taking out a loan for your build it does become easier.  A lot of people take out extra loans when they need them, but this can delay construction. If you don’t want this to happen then it is important to take out extra money now, with the hopes that you’re not going to need it.
